Total Saponins of Panax Notoginseng Leaves

This product is the total saponins extracted from Panax notoginseng leaves.

【Description】 This product is light yellow to brownish yellow, with a bitter taste followed by a slightly sweet aftertaste, and is hygroscopic.

【Test】Loss on drying  Dry the product at 80°C to constant weight; the loss in weight should not exceed 5.0% (Appendix IX G).

Residue on ignition  Should not exceed 4.0% (Appendix IX J).

【Assay】 Precisely weigh 50 mg of the product, place it in a 10 ml volumetric flask, dissolve with ethanol and dilute to the mark, mix well, filter, and take the successive filtrate. Perform the test according to the method under the [Assay] section of Qiye Shen'an Tablets.

The content of total saponins of Panax notoginseng, calculated as ginsenoside Rb₃(C₅₃H₉₀O₂₂), should not be less than 10%.
